I have for years dreamed of opening my own wellness retreat in Hawaii.Many people ask about my vision, so I thought I would expand.
My plan is to open a sustainable model that is built green and off the grid. I also have plans for an edible landscape. In addition to green and sustainablity, it will also offer raw food/ plant based nutrition & meals, purification programs, spa services, yoga, surfing, and all sorts of outdoor activities like medicinal healing plant hikes and so forth. I want to offer educational and recreational bliss as I leave as little negative environmental impact as possible with solar showers, rain water collection, grey water systems, passive solar design and well as solar panels.
Thanks to those who offer insight and interest.

Sounds fun and purpose-full;
Let's not forget a small meditation room with music like Tim Janis, and Thors and Enya…
Ohh and i like State of Grace… dearly…
You could have rabbits running around for the children to play with and hold educational programs for them to understand nature and its strong bond with each of us…
But i wonder if competition will allow your dream to be profitable… oh well, sending Good Karma to you for your wellness retreat anyway…
Money after all comes to you in two ways…

Sounds like a good time! :)
I am awed that the vision I have on Oahu does not already exist. I would have thought so, but it does not. We shall see if it is meant to be. :)
As long as you are willing to hold the vision, the universe will deliver. :)
Wow. Thanks for reading my blog and for your concern. I am sure that the best circumstances will arise as I pursue this project. As I have more information I will be sharing it.
Beautiful vision Lori. There is nothing quite like your vision on Kauai either. We lived on Kauai and found it very curious that this didn't already exist. Very large resorts ( which aren't eco in my experience ) and very micro versions with individuals creating and sharing parts of your vision do exist. I still believe there are opportunities for a real sustainable eco-retreat in Hawaii. We have friends on Kauai that have been looking to manifest sustainable intentional community there. There are many that have been looking to ground a similar vision. Its a very interesting journey and experience deepening to co-create a retreat space.
For 14 years my wife and I owned a day spa, salon, veggie cafe and eco-store in WI. It was very scuccessful. We sold it with the intention of co-creating a destination retreat space because we wanted to help facilitate deeper experiences. We considered landing this vision with a group co-creating a sustainable living school/ intention living community in NM. That was 7 years ago. Then we discovered Kauai and the amazing energy of the islands. When we first landed on Kauai we looked at creating a retreat space and did have a very micro version with our small guest house. It was fun and a rewarding experience. I would have liked to have figured out how to co-create a sustainable eco-retreat while we were there but it didn't come into our flow during our time on the island.
My wife and I are still open to being a part of a retreat space… somewhere… We will see what flows for us.
To co-create a space like you described is a beautiful vision. Thanks for sharing your vision. If we can help please let us know.
Mark, thanks so much for the appreciation of my vision. Too bad you aren't back in Hawaii. ; )

i'm from oahu and will be back in a few weeks. i have been looking for ways to imporve myself and the island. this might be one of them.
